Marilyn Monroe "on location" Niagara, 1952
Oil painting on canvas
Published in the book 'Marilyn in Art', compiled by Roger G. Taylor (published Pop Art Books, ISBN 1904957021)
The ideas are realised from the work of Jock Carroll, a Canadian born photojournalist who was assigned to live alongside Marilyn during the making of the film "Niagara" in 1952.
A unique image has lain unseen for over forty years. The publication of Jock's work as a journalist unfolded his association with the film and "Marilyn". For the artist, as a painter/lithographer this proved an irresistible challenge.
The result, an oil painting - which also lends itself so well to an exciting print.
