“My Father Henry Bream, a freelance commercial Artist, worked from the family home. He                                                      specialised in the “Figure” for book & magazine illustration, and exciting commercial                                                            Posters, all in large demand duing the thirties through to the early fifties: this left a great                                                       impression on me.”

                                               Janice George-Allen`s work depicts a diverse range of subject matter, Portraits Landscapes and City                                 life.  Making a deliberate move away from her previous favoured medium of Lithography her                                                first love, creating instead impressive large scale oil Paintings, a lively participation with                                                        paint and colour, to the rural and urban aspects that claim her interest.

Education

Allen’s exploration of these themes and techniques started when she gained a scholarship to attend Twickenham Art School as a junior student.  Since then her experience and enthusiasm to learn and create has never faltered.

In the 70’s she studied Graphics and Lithography and Art history as a part time student at Banbury College of Art.

Accepted at Brooke’s University Oxford as a BA mature part time student in 1988 to study visual Arts and Art History, whilst exhibiting her works extensively around England.

Returning to Brooke`s as an associate Artist for two terms to fine art, painting in oils, to a celebration colour.

Janice has had numerous exhibitions in London, Oxford, Brighton and more recently Ramsgate where she resides today.
